I guess some off you didn't get the sarcasm in yesterday's post. My point was, once you've gone DVD, you'll never be satisfied with tape again. And yes, I want you to buy a DVD player, and I want you to push to get such things as Genesis II, Planet Earth, and The Questor Tapes released on DVD. OK, I'm gonna shut down and move this behemoth. Take care. I'll be back as soon as possible. Update: 10:13 AM. Tried to upload this before shutting down last night.. and my ISP was down. OK, I moved the computer table over about 3 feet... makes it almost impossible to get to either the bathroom or the bedroom, but all of my cables still reach, and the power strips are no longer sitting on wet carpet. I think I'm safe for now. I walked up to the office to report this at 9AM, which was when I thought they opened. It's already damn hot and humid. Turns out, they don't open until 10AM. So, I just got back, they say they'll have someone here today to clean out the condensate lines. I suspect that should do the trick, although I'd like to be here when they do... there's this weird rattling over my head when I'm in bed, and the ductwork doesn't even come over that far. I'm almost thinking that it's the unit on the other side of the brick wall, as that's the only thing that makes sense. I think I'll leave a note for them as well. I also asked them to fix the dripping faucet in the kitchen. I figure as long as someone's in the place, they may as well do everything :) Enjoyed our trip to see the Sheratons at Westport. As Bubba mentioned, there's a strong possibility that it will become our hotel of choice starting in 2002. It's got good ambiance, a nice "village" full of bars and restaurants next to it, and after next year, they'll have a big enough ballroom space for us (they're adding 10K of ballroom space, but it won't be ready when we have SimuCon next year). Today, we go to Harrah's. As Melissa mentioned, it's nice when we don't change hotels. It makes the job of those of us who work on the project much easier, since we already are familiar with the eccentricities of the property. Go Gryph! (although why you stopped to take the time to post is beyond me) |
