Yes, I'm talking about helping Melissa get her new TV set. All I had to do is suggest a set, unpack it, fit it into a car (thanks, Suz, you were right as always!), then help her carry it into her apartment and set it up for her. Going from 12 inches of screen size to 25 inches is a pretty big jump, and I have to admit, the delight in her eyes was a shot in the arm to me. Of course, the flip side of this was presented to me when I got home, to find that the "through the glass transmitter" for my satellite setup wasn't working because of the problems with the gasket from last week, so I couldn't watch any TV to relax. I spent a couple of hours playing Diablo II, instead. My Paladin is almost as old as my thief, and has gotten about half as far, which explains to me why the thief couldn't kill diablo himself. Obviously (in my mind at least) some bad game design allowed me to kill all of the other critters relatively easily, and yet not be able to kill the final "boss". And since you can't go back from "scene 4" to revisit the other scenes, it's hard for me to get a lot of experience to get her older. If things continue the way they are, I suspect my paladin will be at least 10 to 15 levels older than she is when he gets there, and have about 4 times as much damage. It's a shame, I like to play thieves for some reason (my most pleasurable characters in the game are both teefs), and I have always liked bow use (keep me away from those nasty critters whacking at me!) Ah, well, I suspect once I kill Diablo with the paladin, I'll have sated my desires in this game, and put it away for a year before I try another character class. I've got several topics brewing in my mind about what to place here. Melissa's made some entries recently that I would love to post a rebuttal too, but I need to craft some better words before I just say "Not!" and stick out my tongue :) I've got to leave early today anyway and pick up Suz, who lent her car to the TV purchase last night. Oh, and I need to update my links page to include Bubba, who was snickering yesterday about not being one to blame. Well, I need to go fold my car.... see you later!
