have a confession to make. Monday night, I watched a movie, a good movie, and didn't report anything here about it. Most likely because of the awful pain it gives me to admit that Suz was correct (again, and as always). She is cleaning out her tape collection, in response to her burgeoning DVD collection, and many of us in Mooville are beneficiaries of it. I picked up three tapes. "From the Earth to the Moon" ( an expected bonus from buying it for her on DVD for her birthday), "Schindler's List" (hard to believe that movies like this aren't already on DVD) and "Searching for Bobby Fisher" which I'd not seen before. So, in lieu of Monday Night football, I popped the tape in to the VCR in the living room that it would work on (don't get me started again... I tried Sunday night on the VCR in the bedroom, and couldn't get the damn thing to stop rolling) and watched the movie. I found it to be charming, and most enjoyable. I kept wondering, however, if the character Bruce (played quite well by Ben Kingsley) was really Bobby Fisher in hiding. It's a touching story, although a bit predictable. But movies that tug on our heart strings often are. If you haven't seen it, I'd recommend catching it the next time you can.

OK, Suz mentioned it in her post... I didn't get my Braveheart DVD in the mail yesterday, although she got hers. You'd think these guys would know that with a name like mine, I should get priority.... Actually, I had to laugh about it, and shake my head in puzzlement. This is the second time something like this has happened. Last time, it was Suz who had preordered before I did, and hers came a day later. This time, mine shipped a day later than hers, and I have no idea why. Both of us had preordered several weeks (or months) ago, they're both being delivered to the same address. We were postulating yesterday that they ship them out based on last names. Everyone A-E gets them shipped on Saturday, everyone F-Z gets them on Sunday... who knows. At least I got my copy of T2, the Ultimate Edition. It comes in a brushed aluminum case, and is two sided. One side contains 2 versions of the movie (actually with the easter egg version its 3, all courtesy of the ability to switch places in the movie seamlessly, so they don't have to duplicate most of it, just have scenes from all three and tell the DVD which ones to display) and then the second side, which is chock-a-block (what a weird word/phrase!) with extras. In all honesty, I watched only part of it. I watched the Directors Cut of the movie (152 minutes) and then one of the 30 minute featurettes on the second side, and decided it was time for bed. They claim over 6 hours of stuff on the DVD, which sounds like a lot, until you realize that by claiming 2 versions of the film, at over 2 hours each, you've already got 4 hours, but still, it's an impressive disk. I hadn't watched the movie in a while, and it's quite impressive, especially considering that it was done in 1994. It's a good story, mostly. Enjoyable action film, with some interesting thoughts interspersed.

I received the settlement check from the sale of my condo yesterday. I'm going to go to the bank today to see about getting it deposited. I assumed that it was the final step in this long drawn out process, but I found out in a meeting yesterday that I was mistaken. My real estate agent called me while I was in the meeting (of course, I told Suz it was only because Suz was there too) and wanted to see if I'd received the check, and to talk about the walk-through. I told her I was in a meeting, and couldn't really talk, so she told me she'd fax me some stuff. I didn't see it come in last night, so I'll have to deal with it today. I do think it is all winding down, and I'm quite happy about that. The last several weeks have been nightmarish for me with all the changes and signing stuff, and being 900 miles away didn't help.

I'm quite impressed with Andy. He's already updated his web page for 2 days from now!

Ah, well. I'm off to go fold my car. Have a great day!
