ife is getting much happier, after a weekend of lots of work. I spent all weekend working on clearing out boxes of stuff, and moving them into storage (mostly my books, but some other miscellaneous stuff as well). While there are still boxes in my living room, there's also furniture, and by that I mean furniture that isn't standing on its side, but actually down on the floor and usable. There's a bit more to do, like set up lamps, my stereo, and clear out another 4 or 5 boxes, but I'm able to see the end now, and I have to admit, it's made a big difference in my emotional state. I no longer have the hopeless feeling that I've had since moving in.

On the other hand, I've discovered several new shades of purple. Saturday morning, when getting out of the shower, I managed to stub my "little" toe on the hand cart's wheels, and it was loaded up with boxes at the time. Rather than the handcart moving, my toe did. For most of the day I was afraid I had broken it, hobbling carefully as I loaded boxes into the car and moved them offsite. At night, I finally removed my sock, and found all sorts of wonderful colors on it. I was able to move it (scrunch it up?) without too much significant pain, so I assumed that I just whacked it really hard without breaking it. The interesting colours are fading now, along with most of the pain.

Of course, with the excitement of having a real living space last night, I watched too much TV, and too late, so I am afraid I overslept, and won't be able to write as much this morning as I'd like. I was, however, pleased to see the Ravens win the Superbowl last night. I'm sure Chris Metzener wasn't.... she's a Browns fan from way back, and is still unhappy with Art Modell (and rightly so, IMHO), and I'm fairly sure she was rooting against them (and likely not for the Giants). As the Giants are an arch-rival of the Redskins, I have to say I'm happy the Ravens won.

It's sad to think that a year ago yesterday, I was busy helping Greg move his car from one hospital to another.
