I have, in the last few days, received feedback from some people that reminded me that I have a larger audience than just the other web loggers, and my family. I tend not to think about that when posting, I just seem to picture my siblings, or those few in mooville reading away, but it was brought home to me in an email and a phone call. One of the issues raised was that there is no method to discuss things with me, when something I say sparks a desire for commentary. In fact, it was suggested that I put up a bulletin board to facilitate that (like Dave does, I suspect). Since my job requires me to spend lots of time in bulletin boards, I really don't feel that I really want to put such a thing in my personal life, and with the experiences that Steph and the other Dave have been having with blog voices (or some such name) I can't seem to get excited about that, either. So, I'm going to start by making some minor changes to my site. I've included a mail link on the side here. It's not quite how I want it, but it will have to do until I can delve into how html works more. I'm one of those people who just use a tool for 1 percent of its actual capability, and rarely delve into the depth unless necessary. Now, it seems to be necessary. I suspect I'll end up with a gif image with hotspots, so that I can have the behaviour I want, but getting all that figured out in the 15 minutes I allot myself to post every morning is just too much work, especially since I'm not really awake. We'll have to see if I can get to it this weekend. In any case, thanks for the kind comments for those of you who have told me you enjoy these ramblings. Feel free to drop me a note anytime....but I don't promise to answer with any alacrity (sometimes, perhaps not at all, depending on the current crises I'm dealing with). Cheers! |
