unning a bit late this morning. Didn't sleep well at all last night, kept waking up with nightmares. The only one that sticks with me right now is where I was going into a conference to give a speech on genetics to a bunch of geneticists... with absolutely no knowledge other than my normal layman's understanding. Needless to say, I woke up in a cold sweat. One of the many times last night that occurred. I suspect it continues to be the issues around the school shooting locally. I can't turn on the radio, or the TV without being inundated by so called experts diagnosing what went wrong, who reacted incorrectly, and who should be blamed. I even saw that there was a copy cat attempt up in Pennsylvania, although it dropped out of the news fairly quickly, as the kid didn't kill anyone, just (!) wounded some people.

At least I've sparked some discussion amongst us web loggers. And no, Dave, I'm not absolving the parents from incorrectly raising their child, I'm merely adding another component to the mix... the requirement that our society has these days for a family to exist. It seems unfortunate that we encourage situations like this by providing the environment in which both parents must work to support the family. It should be a choice. I have no objection to both spouses working, if they choose to, I just am concerned when it is required. But there is no doubt that there are failures on many fronts, including the parents, in these situations.

At my brother's rather excited suggestion, I've modified my email link in a manner that will require the writer to replace (at) with @. He has informed me that there are 'bots out there that spider their way around web sites looking for email addresses to harvest, and then insert them into spam generators. So, at least if you want to communicate with me, it's a little bit easier.... but it will require some additional effort.

I'm off to work... tonight is game night! :)
