eekends are frankly too short. Friday night, the two Js and I went hunting in EQ. Two J's, you ask? Well, John and Jon. Try playing settlers with those two. Conference calls are murder. Hey, Jon, have a grain? I have a wood... and John answers. Of course, it's made even worse... Jon's real name is Jon-David, so even calling him JD doesn't help the situation. I need to trade in on some new friends with better names. Of course, I'm trying to arrange a settlers evening with one of my bosses and the two of them... and the boss's name is John as well. It'll be a swell evening... me and three Jo(h)ns.

Back to the weekend thing. After we managed to get killed, we decided to head off to see "Enemy at the Gates". While I found it interesting, it was lacking something that I can't quite define that could have made it great. Definitely something to look for on HBO, just not sure it's worth the $8. Strange, really... it wasn't bad at all... it just wasn't as good as I was expecting. So, I got home about 1AM, and went to bed.

Getting up Saturday was a bit difficult, so I laid in a bit, and snoozed while listening to the news. Played a little AoE, and then off on a mission to look at Futons, which I'm considering getting for my apartment as a couch/guest bed. The art of the Futon has made leaps and bounds from what I was familiar with, and I saw a few that looked relatively high quality, although they don't show up on the web. Returning home, I watched some of my saved up TV from the week, and then decided to sit down for some more AoE. At 4AM....I finally figured out how late it was and toddled off to bed.

It's a given that I was exhausted when I woke up at 8AM to make our supposed meeting in GemStone III, only to find that I was the only one that showed up. It looks like this group hunting idea is falling apart, due to the schedules of those involved. It's basically down to one other person and myself, and he's an accountant, and was working on some tax returns yesterday. Since it's looking like it will be this way permanently, I need to figure out if I can shift the schedule around to arrange for something more comfortable for me... early Sunday mornings, there are a lot of other things I could be doing (like sleeping). It has been since before Christmas since we had a full complement, and three months of showing up and being mildly disappointed is about enough :) Fortunately, I've been enjoying hunting with my lower level character and getting him closer to level 20.

The rest of yesterday was taken up with looking at homes. John and I looked at Scripps Ranch, the older section, and were quite pleased with the neighborhoods and styles of homes we saw. On the way back to his car, we stopped in South Escondido, and saw a larger house (3br/3ba) that was actually reasonably priced, although probably too small for all the living spaces. We're learning where things are, what can be affordable, and what can't.

I've removed the contact stuff in the left frame for now... it needs some work, and I haven't gotten to it. I'll put it back up when I get a chance to make it look right.
