wanted to let you know that things are going OK here, but they've
postponed our DSL connection. I found out by calling to check
on the installation that we are a "Pronto Project",
and the person evinced surprise that I didn't know what that
was. After admitting my stupidity several times, I finally was
able to get them to tell me that technically, our house is too
far from the switch to get DSL, but they are apparently installing
booster doohickeys (and are called "pronto project boosters")
that will get the signal to us. However, due to an equipment
shortage in their office, it won't be done until June 1. I don't
think I'll be able to leave this PC up that long here in the
apartment, as it will either be moved today, or tomorrow, with
the final stuff going in a rental truck on Sunday. So, for now,
I guess I'll sign off, and wish you well until I write again,
whenever that may be. I'll be able to read other posts from the
office, but likely not be able to post.
