ore cold last night...got down into the 20s, which means the house was likely in the high 30s. I'm willing to bet it may be worse, as my shower has no water pressure (water is just dribbling out of the shower head). I'm still running it on the offhand chance that the pipes are frozen, and at some point, the heat from the water heater will hit the points of constriction and ease the problem. If I'd been smart, I'd have left it dripping last night, but I didn't think of that until just now. The repairman was here last night for an hour and a half, but finally decided that the circuit board that controls the heat was "fried" and he'd have to get a replacement... sometime today. I sure hope that happens...it's damn cold in here. My fingers hurt, my throat is sore. The only heat source I currently have in my bedroom is me, and it ain't quite enough.

I'm mostly annoyed with myself, because I'm pretty sure I could have done all this work by myself without messing up the heater. Being a rental place, I didn't want to do it, lest I get in trouble. I suspect the problem was that the guys who did it never turned off the breaker switch before they started work. Which is a basic thing to do when you're working on something that has electricity hooked up to it. As a result of this, I've not only inconvenienced myself, but Suz as well... and on the coldest days of the year. Not real high on myself at this point.

Work continues to be a headlong rush into the unknown. Today, we're putting together a nifty document, which may take several extra hours of work this evening. Of course, now that I've got the responsibility of getting the heater fixed, it will likely be extra time, since I'll have to be coming back to the house sometime during the day to meet with the contractor.

I'm not really happy right now.
