ell, it is over. I'm always somewhat let down by the closing ceremonies at the Olympics... I expect something more like the opening ceremonies, yet there is much more of a bittersweet feel to them, as they wrap up, reflect, and bring final closure to the games. Last night's show was no exception. While there were brief moments of beauty, I really wasn't all that impressed with the whole thing (Kiss? Give me a break!) And despite the announcers continuous commentary about how the athletes would be coming into the arena mingled, it seemed that they still all came in with their own countries. I didn't see the Russian pairs skater at all, and I was hoping for a moment of warmth between them and the Canadian pair...but rarely does my own little dream world get played out in real life. However, I do have to say I enjoy the Olympic experience.

At least now I can return to normal routine, and perhaps catch up on my sleep. Right now, I'm running pretty short, and leisure time isn't full, either. Spent most of Saturday and Sunday both at work, trying to catch up on some stuff at work. I tried last Thursday making the lunch thing here at home, and taking it in, and I have to say it worked pretty well. I'm going to try to do more of that.... given that I can wake up early enough to do this and that both.

Of course, the temperatures dropped significantly for the weekend. Saturday was 21 degrees colder than Friday. It only got to a nippy 78. At least it was good weather in which to drive to work. This weekend, I've got a wedding to go to, and I still haven't gotten a gift for the couple yet. At least I've got an excuse for not going to work! I really need to relax a bit.
