e were driving down one of those twisty 2 lane roads along the mountainside in Suz's car, and had just passed a weigh station, when I glanced in the back seat to deal with a small situation. The road curved, Suz yelped, and the car fell off the road and tumbled down a ravine. Time got weird, but at the end, fortunately, no one was hurt, although the car looked like it was totaled. The only casualty has been my ability to sleep, as this dream occurred about 4:30 this morning, and I haven't been able to get back to sleep since then. And who were those two kids in the back seat that we were ferrying? Sigh... so I'm still running short on sleep. I sure hope that the exercise I get moving boxes this weekend tires me out enough to put me to sleep for a long time.

Moving boxes... which means that today is the day we sign the contract on the rental of the new house, and get the keys. I have to admit there is some excitement involved. This new home is somewhat newer (6 years old, rather than the 30 some odd of our current house), and as I think I've expressed before, it seems to be more solidly and intelligently built. I think we'll be pretty happy in the new place. One of the things I'll like about it is that there won't be baseball fields, a mall parking lot, and a golf driving range polluting my nighttime view with lights. Nor will I be in audible range of the highway. It's small pollution, sure, but I've never been happy with it.

As a small consolation for all the difficulties I've been assailing myself with, I went out and bought Dungeon Siege. So many of the people I read on a daily basis are being sucked in, and I saw it on one of my coworkers machines this week (we were doing research on interfaces, I swear!), it looked just to cool to pass up. So, when I got home, it wouldn't run on my machine. Bleh. Which pushed me over the edge. So, I've bought a new machine. Much like Suz, I didn't want to spend a ton of money, so I went the Dell refurbished route, and picked up a machine quite similar to hers for under $700. So, along with a new house, I'll have a new PC, and finally be able to network our computers properly.

Well, chances are this may be the last post for a while. I'm not sure I'll have the energy to post next week, as I'll be moving boxes every night... and DSL will be shut off next Friday. So, if you don't hear from me for a bit, don't assume things are bad...:)

Be good, and take care of each other.
