ool night air and starlight filters through the open window, bathing the sleeping figure beneath the covers. Then, without warning, a car alarm immediately outside the window begins its klaxon, going on for at least 5 or 7 seconds. The noise causes the figure to sit up in consternation, but the alarm goes off, and the sounds of the vehicle being moved into the garage and the garage door closing drifts through the air, and the figure settles back down to go back to sleep, wondering exactly how embarrassed the car owner must be.. Suddenly, another car alarm starts its siren, and lasts for another three or four seconds, before be shut off, and the car sounds get further away.

Yes, this is my morning this morning. I'm wondering if my neighbor has a clue that I sleep with the window open. Ah, well. I got more sleep this weekend to make up for it, even though it was a pretty productive weekend for me. I finally got 95% of the material transferred from the old computer to the new, and have it mostly set up with all of my arcane apps and tools. I finished Dungeon Siege as well, and managed to get my work email to function here at home. I still have to get the two machines (XP and ME) to be on the same network without losing Internet connection, but that will be another weekend's work. I also didn't get installed the GeForce 3 I have, but that should be a 10 minute deal tonight. What I did do this weekend is cook. I tried a recipe Suz found in the paper for an herb balsamic chicken, which didn't turn out as nice as I'd have liked, but I was short a few ingredients. I need to go shopping. Fortunately, however, it turned out quite yummy enough, but I'm wondering what difference the last few "correct" ingredients would make. I also took a couple of hours to cook some of my chocolate chip cookies yesterday.

Nice updates from some of the Mooville gang. A pleasure to know you're still alive. And kudos to Dave and Chris, making the plunge on their first single family home. It looks lovely! We've been given the day after Independence Day off, so I'm thinking about heading to the mountains to take a few pictures. It is also nice to know that my sister's family had such a good time with my brother's family. Wish I could have been there!
