It has been a busy weekend for me. Lots of shopping (food, and picked up a TV cabinet for Suz), cooking, and finally upgrading one of my TiVos. Suz has been so happy with the upgrade on hers that I finally broke down and ordered a couple of hard drives from Outpost and this weekend I upgraded my stand-alone. With the experience I had with Suz's, it only took about an hour, and now I have 168 hours of time available (lowest quality). I started to do my DirectTiVo, but when I opened it up, I saw I needed a few screws extra to secure the drive, so I closed it back up until I can get the parts I need. Yesterday was consumed with staining. Something I've never actually done before. I picked up that build-it-yourself cabinet for Suz's TV on Saturday, but she wanted it finished in a nice blue stain over the pine it is made of, so I learned how to do that. There are still some blue spots on my fingers, despite the fact I used water soluble stain. The parts are waiting in the garage to finish drying, before I put the whole thing together. Once I'm done with hers, then I'll move on to mine, with a wood colored stain. Things have been a bit hairy at work recently, which has also kept my desire to post reduced. I'm hoping they're getting better, but it seems to be a day to day thing. Had a good talk the other day with the COO, so I don't feel threatened, but there is still a lot of stress to deal with. Suz has got me hooked on a new show on BBC America called Changing Rooms. I've noticed that TLC has an American version, but I'm so caught up in the wonderful regional accents on the British version that I'm frankly addicted. It got a season pass this weekend :) I'm delighted that Dave and Chris are doing well in their new home, and hope that the condo sells quickly. I can certainly understand their exhaustion, having recently moved Suz and my stuff to this new home. Well, let me see if I can grab a muffin.... have a great week! |
