ave you ever read a book that gets under your skin so much that you dream about it at night? Last night, I woke up several times, reliving the experiences I've been reading in The Little Country by Charles de Lint, once in such a frenzy that I yelled out loud. The funny thing is, about 10 seconds after I'd sat bolt upright in bed, I couldn't remember what it was I was yelling about... left only with the memory of yelling, and that I'd been "in" the book. Of course, at that point, your mind starts wandering and trying to justify why you're awake. Was there a burglar in the house? Did you hear something other than in your dream that caused you to wake up? Should you get up and look around the house? I can remember 3 distinct times that I woke up last night, although not any of the reasons. Guess tonight I should finish the book off, so I can get some resolution, and some sleep!

Frankly, I'm ready for Daylight Saving Time to start. I'm tired of getting home in the dark, although last night it was still fairly light until about 2/3 of the way home, but I'd love to sit out on the back porch and relax in the dying light, before the coolness sets in. Of course, it isn't for another month, and at 4 minutes a day, I'll probably be home before dark in the next week or two, but I sure wouldn't mind an extra hours worth of light to enjoy the evening by.

My father will probably be leaving the area after this weekend. I have to admit it has been a real pleasure to have him around each weekend for the last couple of months. Kept me on the straight and narrow, helped me get a ton of "jobs" done that I'd been putting off, and kept me company. I'm sorry to see him leave.

I'm preparing Suz's two TiVos for movement to new homes. One of them will go to her sister's house tonight to get set up. Should be interesting, neither her sister nor her brother-in-law are very technically minded, and they don't quite understand what a TiVo will do for them. Should be interesting in a month to see what they feel about it. It might be a good thing for TiVo's marketing folks to pay attention, too... they really should be able to sell the idea better than just "you can pause live TV". The second one, once I've finished watching all of the captures of "Enterprise" on it, will be going to the couple that got married last year, and were extremely good friends of Suz (as well as outstanding emotional support for me during the last year). Should be interesting, as they do know what TiVo is all about, and are quite excited by the prospect. I'm currently filling the machine up with Ground Force, Charlie's Garden Army, and Good Eats as I erase the shows I've got stored on them.
