ell, it is all over but the shouting. After driving around almost every night until 9PM for the last 3 or 4 weeks, looking at potential properties, I finally made a bid on a home (the 3rd I've tried to bid on) that was accepted. It is in the hills above Escondido proper, although I don't have a view, since I'll be in a little hillock area. Now, all I have to do is get the loan going, with all the attendant paperwork, the home inspection, the termite inspection, etc. A ton more things to do, but just knowing that I've got a place to move to when the lease is up on this place is a relief. Fortunately, my father has returned to the area, and has been providing moral support and sage advice, which has likely kept me saner than I might have been.

It is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath split level home, with a 2 car garage, and a lovely deck out the back. On the 25th, I'll whip over there and take some more pictures, but until then, here's a page you can see what the real estate agents took for placement on the advertising. I'll have enough space to have a spare bedroom for visitors, a computer room, and my bedroom, so it should be just perfect. Now, I need to start looking into whether it would be feasible to put in structured wiring for the satellite and computer networking.

I have to admit, the process of finding a home is rather stressful, but I'm hoping to return to more regular posting now that it has lifted. Of course, I will be without DSL when I move, but we'll just have to see how that goes. I'm off to work, but thanks for your patience with me.
