Yesterday I got my wireless switch running (and promptly broke it, so I'm going to have to try again), set up my PC to record the various radio programs I listen to off of the Internet from various public radio stations, fixed my kitchen drawers to handle the "expand-a-drawer" solutions I have (which required some cutting of the plastic) and put away 12 boxes worth of stuff. Well, put away is generous, but they aren't sitting on the floor in my living room anymore. It is starting to look like a home again, for the first time since I moved in, but I clearly see that I need to start work on my "library", as many of the boxes that got moved around and stuffed into closets contain books. Speaking of books, I finished the latest Dan Brown book, The Da Vinci Code, last night, and enjoyed it. I think that Angels & Demons was a better read, but they are both excellent. Now, on to the new Potter book, so I can maintain my "I'm a sheep and follow all of the rest of the crowd" status. Also bought and installed Star Wars Galaxies, but haven't had time to do any play. It is nice that things are settling down here at the house. I know there is still a ton to do, but at least I see progress. The worst thing is that it is all up to me (and we all know how unreliable I am), but the best thing is that I get to pick and choose which project I want to do. My next project will probably be to try hanging some pictures. I've got some stored in the garage, as well as some lying up against walls, and they need to go up. I also need to stop by IKEA one of these days and start getting some of the bookcases I want to use, so I can unpack some of the extra boxes currently stored in that third bedroom. Ah, well.... I guess most of my thoughts these days are centered around my home life. I'll get back to the questionable social commentary soon enough. |
